Daddy of the Year

But they wouldn't be who they are without one incredible man for a daddy. Seriously, ladies: you should be super jealous that I get to have this guy for the father of my children. A lot of women talk about how great it is that their men "help" with the kids. In this house, it's not a matter of him helping me. It's teamwork, baby.

So on Father's Day we celebrated Superdad by doing things he loves and showering him with affection. We love you, Matthew!

I took the kids to the park in the morning for a little photo session.

Then we went to Daddy's favorite place--the beach!

Adventure! Natural History Museum

I'm a big museum fan. Shockingly, Benjamin is not. I mean, what's not to love? You walk around for hours looking at pictures! Wait, is that not interesting to a preschooler? Shoot. Good thing there are museums with dinosaur bones in them.

So waaaaaaaaaay back in June, in an unprecedented moment of Simultaneous Sense of Adventure with a Good Idea, Matt and I decided to make the road trip to Hades LA and hit the Museum of Natural History. This was a miracle because a) We hate LA; b) We almost never feel adventurous at the same time; c) When we do decide we want to do something, it often takes us 3 hours or more to decide on what we want to do, at which point it is usually too late.

We had the best day. Ben was in Heaven, Emma enjoyed herself, and Matt and I loved discovering something new with our Littles. Woo hoo!

Reunited and It Feels So Good

At the end of June we sallied forth unto Menefee for a big 'ol family reunion. My dad is the oldest boy in a family of six kids (one older sister and four younger brothers), all of whom are now scattered across the country. It's been a long time since all six kids have been together with their parents. Since the two out-of-state siblings and their families were going to be out here at the same time, there was a big get-together. Pretty great, right?
