So let's just do a rundown of this week so far, shall we?
Monday: I stayed home with Emma because she had a cold. Nothing severe, but bad enough to need to stay home. In the middle of the night, Ben awoke suddenly with a severe asthma attack. His inhaler wasn't working because he couldn't breathe it in at all. In the middle of it he started shaking violently and turning colors. We were close to calling 911 when he suddenly sucked in a deep breath, sighed, peed, and smiled. Easily the most terrifying moment of my life. And I've had some scary moments with these two nuggets.
Tuesday: Everyone seemed to be feeling fine, so we all went to work/school/daycare. In the evening I took Ben in to the doctor just to make sure everything was okay. It was. Oxygen was fine, lungs were clear. We're just going to need to be on alert. When we got home around 8:30 we put him to bed. About an hour later we heard that stupid seal bark. Emma has croup.
Wednesday: We took it up a notch. Matt stayed home with Emma. At 8:15 (just a few minutes before school started) he sent me this picture:
Apparently she'd launched herself into a dining room chair. Awesome. Later in the day the mold guys showed up and ripped our living room apart. During Emma's nap.
On my side of the county, a student was dropping the n word in sixth period.
So that's how my week is going. And it's only Wednesday. That makes tomorrow Saturday, right? Right?!?!
Pretty sure the label on that bottle of red wine on the counter has my name, printed in bold.
